Like the image heading this blog might suggest, which was a gorgeous room divider panel that found a home in Ardrossan, North Ayrshire, today’s blog is dedicated to a design that we’ve seen roll out of our kiln time and time again. That’s right, it’s time to shine the spotlight on wave designs!

They’re a timeless classic for us, after all, and definitely one of our favourite designs. It’s a style that works at any scale, from small coasters all the way to the largest wall panels and kitchen splashbacks, and it can look tremendous with just about any colour palette applied to it.

One of our favourite uses of the wave design is in fused glass art installations where multiple panels are used to create a surrounding effect that extends outwards from a central splashback. With each panel joining seamlessly onto the next, the wave design is allowed to flow freely from piece to piece, making it look like one big design wrapped around the walls of the kitchen.

A wave can even work on a translucent piece intended to work with light, such as a fused glass window, door panel or Rospo light. There’s plenty of examples of those in our portfolio, too, and the light shining through each curved strip is a sight to behold!

If you’d love to get your hands on something special from The House of Ugly Fish, then make sure you don’t wait to pick up the phone or drop us an email as soon as you can. We’re ready to create gorgeous bespoke fused glass art as soon as you give us the word, whether you’re looking for an incredible wave pattern or another kind of design altogether. No matter what, the end result is guaranteed to be unique, highly personalised and one of a kind!
