As we move into the colder months the landscape around us changes. Whilst we adore autumn here at The House of Ugly Fish, with its warm hues and colourful leaves, winter is just as aesthetically pleasing. New colours and hues emerge and we acclimatise to a different environment. There are some absolutely beautiful views as we move from autumn to winter; crisp, blue skies, low suns, snow-capped hills, dewy gardens, new seasonal flowers, dew dropped leaves and wonderfully gothic trees with their branches bare.

With that in mind we thought we’d share with you some of our fused glass art and glass splashbacks that we feel incorporates some wintery themes and scenes. It’s such a beautiful time of year so why not celebrate it!

Here we have a selection of our fused glass art and glass splashbacks that use a cooler colour palette to some of our other pieces of work. You’ll find paler purples, silvers, greys, blues and blacks used in such a way that they give the effect of a winter landscape. Take a look:

One of our favourite pieces is the glass splashback in the bottom corner which depicts the spectacular phenomenon that is the aurora borealis (the northern lights). It shows that winter themed pieces of art can be filled with colour and don’t have to stick to just silver!

There’s nothing like being at home, in the cosy warmth, with a blanket and a cup of hot chocolate looking outside into the cold; why not bring your own winter landscape inside with one of our pieces of fused glass art or glass splashbacks?
