The customers behind this order had seen a piece of glass wall art on our website, one depicting Fistral Beach in Cornwall, and really adored the idea behind the design. As the family are keen surfers, they thought it would make a good fit in their own home in Colchester and asked Lisa to create something along the same lines. This time, however, the design would be a little more personalised and incorporate the family’s chocolate labrador.
Burning oranges bring both sand and sea to life, helping to provide the contrast needed to make all the silhouettes on the beach truly stand out. Above, soft powdered textures create the image of clouds that are also reflected on the wet sand. It’s a beautifully scenic piece that we really like the end result of! Contrasting with the rather neutral background colour of the wall behind the piece, the glass exudes a welcoming warmth that invites family, friends and guests alike to come and take a seat.

Mounting glass on the wall looks absolutely stunning, and even the smallest panel can have a big impact on the way the room looks, but it’s just one of many ways that our bespoke fused glass art can find a way into your home. Our fully bespoke process ensures that the unique charm of fused glass can go anywhere you need it to and in whatever form you’re looking for. Whether that’s a splashback, a table accessory or something even more unusual like a mirror frame or window – well, that choice is entirely yours to make!
Here at The House of Ugly Fish, we’ve worked hard to become the number one name in fused glass wall art in the UK.
