This latest example of our fused glass kitchen splashbacks found a home in a kitchen in Elie and Earlsferry, Fife. Keen readers of our blog and those familiar with our fused glass art may have already recognised the design of the splashback as a twist on our classic Tree of Life style.
All good designs begin with the background, and this one is no exception. It sports a beautifully neutral blue stone colour that’s full of subtle texture, and immediately the tone of the panel takes a very cool turn. On top of that, the trunk of the tree itself is created line by line.
And then, of course, there’s the details. As the name might suggest, Tree of Life designs burst with life no matter where you look. In this piece, verdant rows of grass and flowers line the bottom of the piece, while four birds soar about the branches and leaves above. Each leaf you see was cut by hand and carefully picked from a wide range of complementary colours. You’ll find everything from blue and green shades all the way to much warmer tones such as yellow and orange, but the way it ties together is undeniably great.
We adore the end result! Everything really came together once the piece was delivered and installed in situ, and the panel now makes for a perfect centrepiece that’s sure to grab all the right kinds of attention for a long time to come. For those of you reading who love the effect created here – why not strive for the same in your own kitchen?
