We’re seeing a theme in this week’s blogs, and that’s fused glass kitchen splashbacks, of course! We don’t mind showing off our most recognisable works, however, so here’s another piece for you to feast your eyes on. It’s a pretty special story this time, too!
This splashback was designed around a photograph sent to us by two clients which was taken on a recent holiday. They wanted to take the sight and immortalise it in artwork because they loved it so much, but they definitely wanted to take their time in order to find the best way to do it. It was a tough task to find something that would do the photograph justice, after all. Although traditional art looked like a strong possibility, they were completely swayed when they saw what we here at The House of Ugly Fish had to offer.
The clients were taken by the way that our fused glass art could bring a scene to life, and contacted us as soon as possible. Soon enough, Lisa got to work translating the photograph to a bespoke design, and the piece you see above had been brought to life. As a kitchen splashback, the photo was able to be perfectly depicted in gorgeous blue hues both light and dark. It was placed behind the cooker in the kitchen to create a fantastic centrepiece, and a bold statement in arguably the most important room in the house.
Now, whenever the two wake up in the morning, they’ll be able to see their past memories in the glass. Guests, friends and family alike are sure to admire the piece whenever they spot it, too! Why not come and get your own?
