Fancy another fish panel? The customer behind this lovely splashback in Newquay, Cornwall certainly did! All of our home splashbacks feature a bespoke design personalised for the client in question, and this one is no exception. It depicts a school of mackerel all swimming in unison, all carefully brought to life from hand cut pieces of glass shaped into stylish fish shapes. The main element of fused glass art may be the glass powder which creates the vivid colour of the background, but the fish themselves were actually more traditionally created. Lisa used paint and brush to recreate each mackerel’s distinctive appearance, complete with scales, stripes and beady orange eyes.
Speaking of the background, there’s a lot to be said about the details you can find there. A deep array of blue hues taken from all across the colour spectrum help to create a vivid picture of the water. From the darkness of the depths below to the speckled white accents of the shallows up above, you really do get a strong sense of the aquatic when you look at this particular piece. Just look at how the light streams in from above, shining subtle rays down through the length of the panel.
Since every piece we make is designed from scratch, hand-made and personalised just for you, your own personal splashback could look as different or as similar to this one as you’d like.
No matter what design you opt in for, however, you’re guaranteed to get your hands on a fully bespoke product made to meet the highest standards of both beauty and practicality.
