The design of these three fused glass wall art panels, installed as a triptych at a home in Rhosneigr, Anglesey, features a swimming shoal of fish making their way to the surface in a spiral, headed from the deep depths of the water up to the shallow sunlight streaming in at the top. A huge variety of blue shades and lovingly rendered gradients bring that image to life in a beautifully stylised way.

Lisa worked specifically to tie in the colours with the fabric of the cushions in the house, with blues, golds and cream all being worked into the shoal of fish. A huge amount of effort went into the gradient of the background, utilising a huge range of blue hues in order to create a true feeling of depth in the glass.

Each tone was carefully picked from a very broad range of tones, and then carefully layered on by hand until everything was as smooth as possible. When you look up from below, it feels as if you’re gazing through the deepest, darkest parts of the cold Irish Sea, all the way up to the sunlight streaming in to reflect off the scales of the fish. It’s a stunning effect that’s really brought to life by the glass!
