This latest piece to find a home on our blog first found a home in Harmston, Lincolnshire. As a very original and simply stunning piece of art, we just had to show it off to our readers as soon as possible. So, without further adieu, here’s a beautiful fused glass art splashback you won’t want to miss!
It all started with the customer’s own ideas. Lisa soon came up with an original interpretation of a sketch that the customer provided, introducing all of the many colour variations you see in the end result. Obviously, there are many elements to consider when moving from a sketch to fused glass art, and Lisa was more than able to utilise the depths of her considerable experience to produce something that brought out all the unique quirks of the medium.
The design itself features a beautifully cool palette, and is based around an arrangement of sea shells. A huge variety of blue shades were utilised to create the main element of the design, with everything from deep dark blues all the way to lighter grey shades being centrally featured. The colours were based on a selection of colours that the customer picked out from the Little Greene Paint Company, which Lisa matched and complemented perfectly. We love how the cool tones complement not only the kitchen but the beautiful AGA range cooker in British racing green!
Combined with a smooth grey background with a hint of blue, the end result is truly stunning. There’s a lot of depth and effects on show here that you wouldn’t get with any other kind of decoration – pictures simply don’t do it justice!
This beautiful splashback is just the latest piece in a very long line of fused glass art panels, the history of which goes back further than you might think!
