Did you know that there are over six-thousand islands in the UK? Well, the home of the client who ordered this fused glass art was in West Mersea and located on one of them! There was only one way onto the island via causeway, which can’t be crossed in high tide. We actually had to wait for the sea to recede and settle before we could make our way over with the glass! The island itself is only eight square miles in size, which made for some great sights.

The design of the piece is suitably nautical, as you might expect. A gorgeous palette of blue hues range from dark to light, adding depth and creating an image of the ocean for the background, while boats of all colours take to the water and sail across the glass. Endless tiny details and a bold streak through the centre of the piece add the finish touches. Take a look at the image of the end result heading this blog if you haven’t already, as it’s a sight to behold!

We think that this fused glass art is an absolutely perfect fit for the house it found a home in, and we couldn’t be happier. If you like the way that this particular work looks, why not come and get your very own piece of glass? We utilise a fully bespoke and completely personalised approach to every single piece we make, no matter how large, how small or how many.

You could have something made that looks just like this one if you really adore it, or you could have something similar with colours changed to suit the décor of the space you’re thinking of putting it. At the same time, you could go for something completely different! There’s a huge variety to be found in our portfolio precisely because your imagination is the limit, so feel free to take inspiration from anything you see. We’ll be more than happy to bring your vision to life. What’s more, when you invest in our glass you’re always guaranteed something that not only looks incredible but will stand the test of time.
