This beautifully bespoke home splashback was delivered to a home in Fareham, Hampshire. Each fish in the design was cut by hand and carefully placed in the design to create the image of a sparse shoal swimming in water. There’s a huge amount of diversity to be spotted, with a handful of fish shining and standing out thanks to silvery metallic shades. Some of them wear a finely detailed texture, while others blend into the background with their blue hues.

The bubbles in the glass are naturally forming artifacts that are created as part of the fusing process, as air becomes trapped between the two panes of glass when they fuse together. We love the way that they bring character to a piece and pop up in unexpected places, and in any given piece of fused glass art, they help to make the glass truly unique. In this particular case, they really help to make the glass feel even more authentically aquatic!

There’s always plenty of subtle detail to be found in the background of our glass, and this particular piece is no exception to the rule. It’s a subtly layered, gorgeous gradient which goes from a deep ocean blue to a lighter turquoise shade as it rises from the bottom of the art to the top. Look closely, and you should be able to make out pretty well defined, waving lines that mark out each depth and the change in colour between them.
