It’s always a good day when we get to show off the latest piece to come out of our kilns. This time, we’ve got one of our bespoke glass accessories for you to feast your eyes on, and it’s a very interesting decorative bowl.
At the customer’s request, the bowl is a very unique shape. It’s unlike any other we’ve made previously, taking a big inspiration from the sea in order to come up with an abstract and stylish shape. The glass has been folded and sculpted several times, giving it an almost seashell-like texture. The overlapping layers of the glass resemble the waves of the ocean lapping against the shore, while the wave pattern worked subtly into the design adds a beautiful finishing touch.
As the piece is transparent and lacking in colour, it all comes down to the texture of the finished product. The surface is nuanced and full of details wherever you look, and the light interacts stunningly with the glass when it catches it. We’re very happy with how it turned out, and it looks absolutely incredible in situ. It’s the perfect accessory for a wonderfully decorated room.
