We’ve got another brand new completed job to show off on our blog! This particular bespoke glass splashback just found a home in Bearsden, Glasgow. Complementing the beautifully neutral white décor of the kitchen, the design was built on a matching off-white background while incorporating plenty of colour.
The customer had a few specific wishes as the composition of the design. They were looking for a more realistic tree, which inspired Lisa to adapt the design to achieve that end. The tree you see on the final result, pictured above, is much fuller than usual, with branches that begin from further down the trunk. It’s a very unique twist on the design that makes this piece a very special, one-of-a-kind affair.
Every single leaf on the tree was cut by hand of course, with each one being carefully placed and arranged in order to create a beautifully diverse spread of warm, autumnal colours. Complementary shades such as green and blue complete the colour palette. Long blades of grass and flowers line the bottom of the piece, with each stem lovingly handcrafted from verdant greens. Look closely, or you may miss the white flakes accenting the colours found there!
Of course, our Tree of Life panels and splashbacks are all about the details and the little bits of life you can find scattered throughout. This particular example is no exception to the rule. You should be able to spot two beautifully detailed butterflies at the corners of the design, as well as a red-breasted robin perched in the branches lower down.
