Hello again from The House of Ugly Fish! We’re here once again to show off a recently completed project, this time taking the form of three bespoke fused glass art panels which were created for a lovely home in Kilmacolm. It was quite a trip all the way north of us in Scotland, but we were more than happy to get the glass there safely. We just had to unite these colourful panels with their intended spaces!
The first splashback was created for the kitchen and features a beautiful scene out on the sea. You can see it pictured proudly above. Seven sailboats make their way across the water, each sporting its own design. A variety of shades and hues bring the scene to life, with special attention paid to rendering a very realistic sky using powder as if it was paint.
The same house received two more panels behind a pair of matching sinks. Contrasting the blue theme of the main splashback, these two complementary panels went together to make a warm sunset beach scene that we absolutely adore. On one, parasols rest before the sea and await the next time the sun is overhead, while a line of colourful beach huts extend the scene off to the right in the second panel.
The colours used in each piece were designed to work with the fantastic décor of the room, including the bold red countertop into which the sinks are mounted, as well as the warm wood of the mirrors overhead. We couldn’t be happier with the end result, and the customers were equally overjoyed once everything was fitted.
