Here’s another brand new piece of fused glass art from The House of Ugly Fish, fresh out of the kiln and installed at its new home. The custom glass splashback, pictured above, was created for a customer’s home in Tunstead, Norfolk. The design is our classic Tree of Life, of course, but with its own unique twists and personalisations. For today’s blog, it only seems right that we talk about it a bit!
Starting with the tree itself, the main feature was created with interweaving blue lines. Each leaf you see was cut to shape and size by hand, with a wide variety of complementary hues. From cool blue and green shades all the way to the warmest orange and red colours, there’s a wide palette here which is sure to grab your attention.
Last but not least, there are the details! Customers often love to personalise the design with their own little additions and ideas, ranging all the way from flowers with a specific meaning to the inclusion of personal pets. Many Tree of Life designs feature a customer’s cat sat in the branches, or dogs playing near the base of the trunk. It’s the perfect way to give the glass a special meaning!
