Although delivering pieces up and down the country can involve some pretty lengthy drives, with overnight stays in all sorts of places, it can lead to some spectacular sights as well.  We were recently down in Newquay, Cornwall, delivering one of the very latest glass splashbacks to have come out of our kiln. It was a gorgeous fish design featuring a school of mackerel swimming together in a spiral, and you can see it pictured below.

Any readers familiar with Cornwall might recognise the images heading this blog. Paul took a moment in between jobs to walk on Holywell Bay Beach, taking in all the sights and snapping a few pictures while he was there. It’s a beautifully scenic stretch of beach, with golden sands and rising dunes showcasing some really classic sights from the book of British coastlines.

The glass itself, featured in our last blog post, was a bespoke glass splashback with a very aquatic design.

There’s another reason why you might find the pictures above pretty familiar. The beach, among many other coastal locations in the UK, was one of the filming locations for the BBC drama series Poldark. The backdrop of Gull Rock and much of the beach itself can be often seen as a backdrop to many scenes, especially in the third series! As fans of the show ourselves, it was great to glimpse it in person.

So what’s keeping you from getting in touch if one of our beautifully bespoke glass splashbacks, much like the one pictured here, could find a place in your home? We here at The House of Ugly Fish are always happy to bring a personalised piece of glass to life, creating unique designs from scratch in order to suit any space. You can get in contact via phone or email, so make sure you don’t wait to do just that.
