As a household name in the world of fused glass art, The House of Ugly Fish is the UK’s number one creator of bespoke artisan glass art that can complement your home like nothing else. Since our two most popular products are splashbacks for the kitchen and fused glass wall art, we’re dedicating some time to talking about them and making sure they get their time in the spotlight.

Yesterday, we featured the beauty of fused glass splashbacks, so today we’ll be taking a look at what happens when you decide to use fused glass art on the wall.

This is a picture of a fused glass wall art sale piece currently in our showroom. This image is being used as a decorative insert image.
This is another example of a triptych, an arrangement of three wall panels on the wall that make up a single scene. In this case, the design was inspired by a local Welsh beach that we love. Do you recognise it?

Fused glass panels come in all shapes, sizes and styles. Since every piece is fully bespoke and made to order, the designs are tailored to each customer. We are able to take in ideas and inspiration in order to create the bespoke product you’re looking for.

This can take the form of simple decription and correspondence via a conversation, which in turn can be over the phone, in person or simply through email. If you’d like to be more specific, you can always feel free to send in colour samples such as fabric pieces, bits of wallpaper or tiles for us to colour match to. For the more creatively minded, you can send in photographs and even drawings if you want Lisa to interpret your own original design. Your imagination is the limit!

Where Can Glass Wall Art Go?

While it seems like the obvious answer is indeed on the wall, there’s a bit more to this question than you’d think.

Our customers often enquire about how we fit our glass, wondering if the space they have in mind is suitable for a piece or two. The most common question they have is to do with obstructions such as shelves or plug sockets, or areas where the ceiling might dip lower. When it comes down to it, this is never a problem, as we are able to create all of our glass to match specific measurements and dimensions.

A single piece can be as large as two metres in either direction, but it’s often the case that we use multiple panels joined seamlessly to achieve the same effect. Smaller panels are less costly and much easier to fit, and the final effect is almost exactly the same. There’s plenty of pieces created that way in our Portfolio section, if you want to go and have a look! We can also cut shapes out of the glass to make way for things such as electrical sockets.

There’s never been a better time to come along and get your hands on something bespoke, personalised and totally unique from The House of Ugly Fish, so why not look into what our stunning glass wall art could do for your home? Our full contact details can be found here on our website, where you can also find our full Portfolio section if you’d like to take a look over all of the work we’ve completed so far.
