This piece is one of the very latest artisan splashbacks to roll off of our kiln, and we’re excited to show it off here on our blog. Scenery pieces like this one remind us of our new home in Wales, after all, so you can understand why we like this one in particular!

The customers behind this glass splashback, now in Halifax, West Yorkshire, were looking to have a very soft and stripped back beach scene created in the glass, with the design evoking a certain scene and mood. Specifically, they wanted to have the glass capture that feeling when you first step onto a sand dune, and when you can crest the soft beach underfoot to see the sea lying beyond the sand. The design is intended to give that effect, with a very soft brushed look evoking the salt sprayed air of a windswept coast.

There are no strong colours here, especially with the usage of blue hues. Instead, the piece is skillfully created out of pastel hues that are all very neutral and faded. The grass in the foreground carries calming nuanced green shades, the sand is a glowing white that blends in with the surrounding décor, and only the sea injects colour into this particular piece. The end result, however, is stunning – and we’re sure that you’ll agree.

The kitchen was a very neutral affair, with bright white and light grey tones all working together to make a very modern and clean looking room. The splashback reflects this, especially in the muted colours of the desaturated sky and clouds, and the glass makes for an eye catching centrepiece that completely complements the atmosphere.
